Buy a karate belt

So where can you buy karate belts? Normally you just can’t go into the next store and buy one.
Karate belts are not in every store available. They are provided in special stores, dojos, sports stores and online shops.

Chose your karate belt with care

There are many manufacturers around selling all kind of karate belts from cotton to synthetic. Its your decision what is better for you,
i prefer cotton, my friend synthetic, both karate belts look and feel almost identical and are still very good in shape.
Don’t chose your karate belt on the price. Your belt stays with you for a long time its not a buy and forget thing.

If you are in a dojo, ask your teacher where to buy your outfit. Most dojos have a preferred store or dealer
they work with. So that the outfit matches to the other members and the price is (maybe) a little cheaper then in a ordinary store.
If you are not in a dojo and just want a belt for decorative purposes, DONT go to a dojo and ask where to buy. You could get into a very rubbish conversation!

The honor of a karate belt

Just “buying” a karate belt doesn’t give you the skills you should have to wear it. A karate belt should always be “deserved” and given
to you from your sensei. Only this way you can wear a karate belt and feel the “honor”.
Someone who has earned a karate belt will also never use it as a “accessory” for daily use. The real karate students wont even tell the are
in a dojo, perhaps one of your neighbours is a sensei and you don’t even know it.
